THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, April 25, 2025 – The two-day State conference of Sasthra Vedhi kicked off today in Thiruvananthapuram with a prestigious inaugural address delivered by former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman, S. Somanath. The event, held at Lenin Balavadi, features a diverse program including seminars, book releases, a science film contest awards ceremony, and visits to local science facilities.
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre director S. Unnikrishnan Nair delivered the keynote address, while Geevarghese Yohannan, chairman of MGM Institutions, honored the women’s editorial board. Mr. Somanath and Mr. Unnikrishnan also presented awards for the Sasthra Thallu science reel competition.
The conference boasts a wide range of speakers, including prominent figures from the science and political arenas. Afternoon sessions will feature addresses by Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Sudhakaran and Leader of the Opposition V. D. Satheesan.
