**KOCHI, Kerala, April 25, 2025** – Hundreds gathered in Kochi today to pay their respects to N. Ramachandran, 65, who was killed in a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir. Ramachandran was among 26 victims gunned down in the Baisaran Valley. His body, flown from Srinagar, was received at Changampuzha Park in Edappally where a somber ceremony was held.

His wife, Sheela Ramachandran, visibly distraught, sat beside his body along with other family members. The outpouring of grief extended beyond immediate family and friends, with many Kochi residents attending to show solidarity. Originally scheduled for two hours, the tribute extended due to the continuous stream of mourners.

Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar condemned the attack as a “murder of humanity” and an assault on “the meaning of India,” emphasizing the nation’s unity in response. Goa Governor P. S. Sreedharan Pillai echoed this sentiment, stating the attack had “united the world.”

Prominent figures including Kerala High Court Judge Devan Ramachandran, Industries Minister P. Rajeeve, and several MPs attended the ceremony. Following the public homage, Ramachandran’s body was taken to his home for final rites before cremation.
