**Chennai, April 26, 2025** – A 17-year-old girl was attacked in Korukkupet, Chennai, allegedly by the brother of a man currently imprisoned under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Police say the attack, which occurred Thursday night, involved a small blade and left the girl injured. She is currently receiving treatment at Government Stanley Hospital.

The arrested man’s brother is considered a key suspect in the attack, which police believe was an act of retaliation. The imprisoned cousin had been arrested in March after being accused of confining and raping the girl. One of the attackers has been detained, and the police investigation continues.
