Fri Apr 25 14:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Chennai Super Kings Struggle Against Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2025 Match

**Chennai, India** – The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced a challenging start in their IPL 2025 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday. Winning the toss, SRH captain Pat Cummins opted to bowl first.

CSK made two changes to their playing XI, bringing in Devon Conway and Deepak Hooda for Rachin Ravindra and Vijay Shankar. However, their revised lineup struggled from the outset. Mohammad Shami dismissed Sheikh Rashid for a duck in the very first ball, delivering an early blow to CSK. Sam Curran also departed cheaply, scoring only 9 runs off 10 balls. Ayush Badoni provided some resistance before being dismissed for 30 runs.

Despite a dropped catch of Ravindra Jadeja, CSK lost three wickets in the powerplay, leaving them struggling at 50/3 after 6 overs. The team’s performance reflects their overall poor season so far, with only two wins from eight matches placing them at the bottom of the points table.

SRH, though not performing exceptionally well themselves (with six losses from eight matches), have shown more consistency. They currently occupy ninth place in the standings.

The historical head-to-head record favors CSK significantly, having won 15 out of 21 previous encounters against SRH. However, based on current form, SRH appeared to be in a commanding position in this crucial match. The match is expected to continue.
