Fri Apr 25 04:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Clippers’ Bogdanovic: Teamwork Key to Defeating Friend Jokic in Playoffs
**LOS ANGELES –** The Western Conference Playoffs have pitted longtime friends and Serbian national teammates Bogdan Bogdanovic of the Los Angeles Clippers and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets against each other. While Bogdanovic acknowledges Jokic’s exceptional talent and the added motivation of the playoff atmosphere, he emphasizes that defeating the three-time MVP will require a collective team effort.
“Yeah, he (Jokic) makes them better, but he needs the rest of the teammates as well,” Bogdanovic stated. “Basketball is five on five…we all have to lock in. There are no tricks to stop players like that; you’ve got to use multiple efforts.”
Bogdanovic, who played alongside Jokic for Serbia in recent international competitions, including a near-upset of Team USA in the Olympics, offered insight into Jokic’s unique style of play. He described Jokic’s evolution from a skilled-passing big man to a complete player who “controls the game” with his intelligence and consistent approach. “His brain is working at full speed. Every second, every move is thought out,” Bogdanovic explained.
Despite their friendship and shared history, Bogdanovic downplayed the notion of possessing any secret weapons against Jokic. He noted that the Clippers’ players have faced Jokic numerous times and that the Nuggets’ star has already been well-scouted. Instead, Bogdanovic highlighted Jokic’s remarkable consistency as his defining characteristic: “I honestly think he approaches, attacks every single game the same way,” he said.
The series is off to a close start, with the Nuggets winning Game 1 in overtime, 112-110, thanks in part to a 29-point, 9-rebound, 12-assist performance from Jokic. The Clippers, however, remain confident that a unified defensive strategy and overall team performance will be their best chance at advancing.
