**KOCHI, Kerala – April 25, 2025** – The Eloor fire station in Kochi responded to an unusual rescue call on Friday. A goat had become trapped on the sunshade of a second-floor apartment in Kalamassery.
The goat, apparently having entered the apartment building through an open gate, climbed a flight of stairs and squeezed through a gap in the second-floor sunshade’s grill. However, its descent proved more challenging. The goat resisted rescue attempts, even charging at a firefighter who attempted to retrieve it from the sunshade.
Firefighters employed a noose to subdue the agitated animal before carefully lowering it to the ground. Once freed, the goat ran away unharmed. The incident drew a crowd of onlookers and highlighted the unexpected challenges faced by rescue services.
