Thu Apr 24 15:05:31 UTC 2025: ## Five Arrested in Hyderabad Child Trafficking Ring, Five-Year-Old Rescued

**Hyderabad, April 24, 2025** – Chandrayangutta police have arrested five individuals and rescued a five-year-old girl, Mariyam Saadi, who was kidnapped on April 20th. The arrests are the result of a swift investigation launched after a complaint was filed regarding the child’s abduction near the Mahatma Gandhi statue in Chandrayangutta.

Police reviewed CCTV footage, leading them to a couple, Syed Javeed Pasha and Shaista Parveen, who confessed to kidnapping the child and selling her for ₹1.30 lakh to Parveen Banu, a resident of Uppal. A police team subsequently rescued the child from Banu, who was in the process of reselling Mariyam to Jawagi Sunitha Kumari, who operates a first aid clinic, and Kappala Rajendra Prasad, an agent at a fertility clinic. Kumari and Prasad were previously implicated in a child trafficking case in Mumbai.

The investigation revealed the abduction was meticulously planned, with Pasha wearing a helmet and Parveen a burqa to avoid detection. Their motorcycle’s number plate was also concealed. Police seized a scooter, auto-rickshaw, car, five mobile phones, and ₹76,000 in cash. Authorities believe the suspects are part of a larger organized child trafficking network.
