**New Delhi:** The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the final results for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Shakti Dubey secured the top rank. A total of 1009 candidates have been recommended for appointment, comprising 335 from the General category, 109 from EWS, 318 from OBC, 160 from SC, and 87 from ST.
The UPSC conducted interviews for approximately 2845 candidates who cleared the main examination, from January 7th to April 17th, 2025. The results are available on the official UPSC website, upsc.gov.in. Individual candidate marks will be released around 15 days later.
This year’s recruitment drive filled 1132 positions across various services, including IAS, IPS, and IFS, exceeding the initially announced 1056 vacancies. The breakdown includes 180 IAS, 150 IPS, and 55 IFS positions, along with vacancies in other Group A and Group B services. A detailed service-wise vacancy distribution is available on the UPSC website.
The UPSC CSE is considered one of India’s most challenging competitive examinations, attracting lakhs of aspirants annually. The three-stage process includes a preliminary exam, a main exam, and an interview. The final merit list is prepared based on performance in the main examination and the interview.
