**Chennai, April 22, 2025** – The Tamil Nadu government announced plans to provide 100 government jobs to sportspersons this year, fulfilling a 3% reservation quota. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin revealed this during a Question Hour session in the state Assembly. At least 25 of these positions will be reserved for sportspersons with disabilities.
This initiative follows the employment of 104 sportspersons last year, including 11 in the police force. The government is currently accepting applications for 32 sub-inspector positions within the police department, with plans to open applications for constable positions soon. The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted various welfare measures undertaken by the state for individuals with disabilities.
