**Kozhikode, Kerala, April 22, 2025** – Kozhikode Railway Station is undergoing a significant expansion project, set for completion by June 2027. Construction has begun on a new west terminal near Platform 4, which will accommodate four additional tracks. Simultaneously, piling work is underway for an east terminal near Platform 1, requiring the demolition of adjacent buildings. A 48-meter wide air concourse will connect both five-story terminals, improving passenger flow.
The project also includes the construction of two multi-level car parking facilities (900 cars and 2,500 bikes), two new foot overbridges, 20 escalators, and 18 lifts. Platforms are being upgraded with granite flooring and full-length shelters. Road improvements are also underway. The existing bus stop on the east side has been relocated to facilitate construction. The Health unit’s renovations are nearing completion.
