**Kozhikode, Kerala – April 22, 2025** – The Kerala government plans to offer liver transplant surgeries at the Government Medical College Hospital (MCH) in Kozhikode, Health Minister Veena George announced Monday. The hospital already performs kidney transplants, and the addition of liver transplants will leverage the recently established 14 new operating theaters within the PMSSY (Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana) block dedicated to heart, liver, and kidney transplants. The hospital has also allocated 20 ICU beds specifically for multi-organ transplantation from brain-dead donors. This expansion follows existing liver transplant facilities at Thiruvananthapuram and Kottayam medical colleges.
