**Thiruvananthapuram, April 22, 2025** – The Kerala government has announced three days of state mourning in honor of Pope Francis, following a request from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Official “entertainments” have been cancelled on April 22nd and 23rd. Additionally, a one-day mourning period will be observed on the day of the Pope’s funeral, the date of which is yet to be announced by the Vatican. District Collectors have been instructed to fly the national flag at half-mast during the mourning period.
