**JAIPUR, INDIA –** United States Vice President J.D. Vance concluded a portion of his four-day visit to India with a cultural tour of Jaipur and a speech emphasizing the strengthening of economic ties between the US and India. Accompanied by his wife, Usha Vance, and their children, the Vice President delivered a speech at the Rajasthan International Centre on April 22nd, 2025, focusing on the finalized terms of reference for negotiations on a Bilateral Trade Agreement (BTA).

Vance highlighted the importance of a balanced and reciprocal trade relationship, stating that the US seeks fair deals and partnerships to build a fair global trade system. He also emphasized the potential for increased Indian purchases of US ammunition and the benefits of accessing US natural resources at lower costs for India. The Vice President’s address followed a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 21st, where the finalization of the BTA terms was formally announced.

The family also took part in a cultural visit to the Amber Fort, receiving a warm welcome. The visit holds particular significance for Mrs. Vance, whose ancestors hail from Vadluru village in Andhra Pradesh. The family’s earlier visit to the Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in Delhi was equally notable, with the Vice President expressing gratitude for the hospitality in the temple’s guest book.
