**Bengaluru, April 22, 2025** – Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah today strongly condemned a road rage incident involving an Indian Air Force officer and a call center employee, criticizing what he called unfounded allegations against Kannadigas and the state of Karnataka.
The incident, which occurred in Bengaluru’s C.V. Raman Nagar, involved Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose and Vikas Kumar. Videos of the altercation went viral, prompting Mr. Bose to post a video online accusing Mr. Kumar of assault and verbal abuse. Initially, Mr. Kumar was arrested.
However, after reviewing CCTV footage and witness statements, police discovered evidence suggesting Mr. Bose also participated in the assault. A counter-complaint led to an attempted murder charge being filed against the Wing Commander.
CM Siddaramaiah, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), defended the people of Karnataka, stating that Kannadigas are proud of their language but not intolerant. He criticized national media outlets for reporting unverified information, claiming it tarnished the state’s reputation. He emphasized the state’s welcoming culture and ordered the Bengaluru Police Commissioner to ensure justice, regardless of the individuals involved. While defending Kannadigas, the CM also warned against vigilantism and urged citizens to allow the legal process to unfold.
