Mon Apr 21 19:34:32 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Cricket Association Halted on Financial Decisions Amidst Corruption Allegations
**Hyderabad, April 22, 2025** – The Telangana High Court has issued an interim order temporarily restricting the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) from making any financial decisions beyond essential employee salaries and day-to-day expenses. This follows a writ petition filed by the Telangana Cricket Association alleging widespread corruption within the HCA’s managing committee.
The petitioner claims the HCA misused funds, with its president facing disqualification from elections and its treasurer under investigation for alleged misappropriation. Further adding weight to the allegations, the Enforcement Directorate has already seized assets worth ₹51.29 lakh under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act due to suspected HCA fund misappropriation.
Justice C.V. Bhaskar Reddy, while acknowledging the need for a thorough investigation, deemed the allegations serious enough to warrant the interim order, halting all but essential financial activity until the matter can be fully adjudicated. The court will address the issues raised in the petition during a final hearing.
