**San Francisco, CA – April 22, 2025** – Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman concluded a busy day in San Francisco, meeting with top executives from leading technology companies to foster investment and collaboration between India and the United States. Her meetings focused heavily on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital infrastructure development.

Sitharaman met with CEOs and investors from VMware, a16z, Google Cloud, and DataRobot, highlighting India’s ambitious AI initiatives, including the ₹10,300 crore IndiaAI Mission and the development of AI language technologies like BharatGen and Sarvam-1. She emphasized India’s growing AI skill base and encouraged collaborations on AI Centers of Excellence in areas like education and healthcare.

Executives expressed significant interest in India’s burgeoning tech sector. Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian praised India’s digital infrastructure advancements and expressed Google’s commitment to carbon-free energy and future investment in India. DataRobot CEO Debanjan Saha highlighted India’s potential to become an AI superpower. Discussions also included India’s proposed ₹1 lakh crore (USD 12 billion) private sector-driven research, development, and innovation scheme.
