**UDHAGAMANDALAM, April 22, 2025** – Tourists visiting the Nilgiris district in Tamil Nadu will once again require an e-pass to enter, the district administration confirmed late Friday. Following a Madras High Court clarification, the mandatory e-pass system will resume Tuesday at five key entry points: Kallar, Kunjapannai, Mel Gudalur, Masinagudi, and Geddai.
While the announcement may seem to loosen existing restrictions, the administration emphasized that all visitors intending to reach major towns like Udhagamandalam, Coonoor, and Kotagiri will be required to obtain an e-pass as these towns are only accessible through one of the designated checkpoints. The clarification effectively reinstates a previous regulation.
