Tue Apr 22 06:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Delhi Govt. Office Hours Reverting to Pre-Pollution Schedule
**NEW DELHI** – The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, V.K. Saxena, has announced a return to the standard working hours for Delhi government and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) employees, effective immediately. The change, reversing a November 2024 adjustment implemented due to severe air pollution, reflects recent improvements in air quality.
Previously, to combat high pollution levels, office timings were shifted. Delhi government employees’ hours were adjusted from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, while MCD employees worked from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.
Under the new order, Delhi government employees will now report at 9:30 AM and conclude their workday at 6:00 PM. MCD employees will begin at 9:00 AM and finish at 5:30 PM.
A notification from the LG’s office cited improved air quality as the reason for the adjustment. This marks a return to the pre-November 2024 schedule. Similar adjustments were made in November of the previous year by then-Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, also in response to air pollution concerns.
