**Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir:** A terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has resulted in one death and twelve injuries, four of which are critical. The attack occurred around 2:30 PM on [Date of attack], targeting tourists on horseback near Beasaran. The terrorists opened fire indiscriminately, leaving tourists with no time to react.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently on a visit to Saudi Arabia, spoke with Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the phone, directing him to take all necessary steps and visit the site of the attack. Following the conversation, Mr. Shah immediately convened an emergency meeting with the Home Secretary, other Ministry officials, and the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (virtually). He subsequently traveled to Srinagar.

The attack has been condemned by several prominent figures, including Prime Minister Modi, who tweeted his condolences to the victims’ families and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed shock and disgust at the attack, describing the perpetrators as inhuman. Similar condemnations were voiced by PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti, BJP leader Ravinder Raina, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
