Mon Apr 21 11:00:00 UTC 2025: **Indiana Faces Overnight Rain and Thunderstorms, Severe Weather Unlikely**

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Indiana residents can expect rain and thunderstorms overnight into Monday morning, according to 13News meteorologist Matt Standridge. While a few stray severe storms are possible, particularly west of Indianapolis, the overall severe weather threat is low.

The main line of showers and storms is expected to arrive after midnight, though isolated pop-up storms could occur as early as 7 p.m. The storms will likely be more intense in Illinois and the Ozarks. Favorable atmospheric conditions in Indiana will help mitigate severity, leading to mainly rain and thunder for a few hours.

Rainfall amounts are expected to be modest, with perhaps another quarter-inch accumulating overnight. While some areas have already seen 1-2 inches of rain this weekend, many others have received less than half an inch.

The rain is expected to clear by around 8 a.m. Monday, leaving behind wet roads and potentially windy conditions, with gusts up to 35 mph. Monday’s temperatures will be in the 60s, but the wind chill may make it feel cooler. A stray shower is possible Monday, but mostly dry weather is anticipated until more widespread rain chances arrive Friday. Residents can track the storms using the 13 WTHR interactive radar.
