**Hyderabad, April 21, 2025** – Telangana celebrated its agricultural achievements at the Rythu Mahotsavam in Nizamabad today. The event, organized by the state government, highlighted the Congress party’s contributions to irrigation and farming. Ministers, MLAs, and party leaders lauded the government’s efforts, emphasizing the record-breaking paddy procurement and ambitious irrigation projects.

Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy announced that Telangana is on track to procure a record 70.13 lakh metric tonnes of paddy during the Rabi 2024-25 season, bringing the total annual paddy production to 281 LMT – the highest in India. He assured farmers that all necessary infrastructure for procurement is in place.

TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud called for the desiltation and dredging of the Nizamsagar and SRSP projects to increase cultivable land. He also praised government schemes benefiting farmers. The revival of the Pranahita-Chevella project, aimed at benefiting North Telangana, was also announced.

The event saw a unified show of support for the government’s initiatives, with leaders urging farmers to utilize available resources and schemes. The Rythu Mahotsavam served as a platform to showcase Telangana’s agricultural prowess and the government’s commitment to the farming community.
