Mon Apr 21 06:08:53 UTC 2025: ## ISRO Successfully Completes Second Satellite Docking Experiment

**Bengaluru, April 21, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully completed a second docking maneuver of two satellites as part of its Space Docking Experiment (SpaDeX) mission, solidifying India’s position as the fourth nation to achieve this technological feat.

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, announced the successful docking via social media. The satellites, SDX01 (Chaser) and SDX02 (Target), were initially docked on January 16th, 2025, and undocked on March 13th before this latest successful docking. The PSLV-C60/SpaDeX mission, launched on December 30th, 2024, aims to develop and demonstrate crucial technologies for future space missions.

This technological advancement is a significant milestone for India’s space program. The successful docking and undocking demonstrate capabilities essential for future ambitious projects, including sending an Indian astronaut to the Moon, lunar sample return missions, and the construction and operation of an Indian Space Station. Furthermore, the experiment successfully demonstrated the transfer of electric power between the docked spacecraft, a crucial step for future in-space robotics and composite spacecraft control. The SpaDeX mission joins the U.S., Russia, and China as the only nations to have successfully conducted such a docking experiment. Further experiments are planned within the next two weeks.
