**KOCHI, INDIA – April 21, 2025** – Nearly two dozen spectators were injured when a temporary wooden gallery collapsed at a football tournament in Kothamangalam, Kerala, India, late Sunday night. The incident occurred just before the final match of the tournament, which was subsequently cancelled.
Approximately 4,000 people were in attendance at the floodlit school ground when a section of the gallery gave way. The injured, including children and women, were transported to various hospitals. Police are investigating the cause of the collapse.
