TIRUPATI, INDIA (April 21, 2025) – Two non-governmental organizations, Animal Care Land of Tirupati and Bengaluru-based Water for Voiceless (WFV), have partnered to alleviate the suffering of animals during the scorching summer heatwave. The initiative involves distributing 180 large water bowls across Tirupati for stray animals and birds.
Sixty-two volunteers were tasked with installing the bowls in strategic locations throughout the city. The project, officially launched by TTD Trust Board member G. Bhanuprakash Reddy, encourages citizen participation in providing water to animals in need.
This effort is part of a nationwide WFV campaign that has already distributed over one lakh water bowls across India. Authorities caution that rising temperatures and water scarcity may lead to increased instances of dog bites, urging citizens to remain vigilant. The project was lauded by animal lovers and veterinary officials alike.
