**Davangere, Karnataka – April 21, 2025** – A large-scale convention, the “Samvidhana Samrakshakara Samavesha” (Constitution Protectors’ Convention), is set to take place in Davangere on April 26th, organizers announced Monday. The event, aimed at highlighting the importance of upholding the Indian Constitution, has already garnered over 9,000 registrations.

According to K.L. Ashok, one of the organizers, the convention will bring together various pro-people groups and prominent figures, including writer Baragur Ramachandrappa, actor Prakash Raj, activist Medha Patkar, and Gujarat legislator Jignesh Mewani. Attendees will participate in a parade featuring a tableau representing the Constitution’s preamble.

Organizers aim to register at least 100,000 people for the cause within the next three years, with the Davangere convention serving as the first step. Around 10,000 people from across Karnataka are expected to attend this initial gathering. H.R. Basavarajappa, president of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (Karnataka State Farmers’ Association), described the event as historic. Activist and advocate K.P. Sripal urged residents of Shivamogga to participate.
