Sun Apr 20 19:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Porzingis Confirms EuroBasket 2025 Return for Latvia

**RIGA, LATVIA** – Kristaps Porzingis, the Boston Celtics star, has announced his intention to play for Latvia in the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 tournament, co-hosted by Latvia in Riga. The 28-year-old center, known for his exceptional height and skill, stated that only injury would prevent him from participating.

Speaking to Sportacentrs.com, Porzingis emphatically declared his commitment to the national team, stating that any previous absences were due to injury, not a lack of desire to represent his country. He added, “This summer, I’ll be there! Health is the main thing – then everything else will follow.”

Porzingis’s return is a significant boost for Latvia, who are aiming for a strong performance after their historic fifth-place finish at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023. Latvia will compete in Group A of EuroBasket 2025 alongside Serbia, Czechia, Türkiye, Estonia, and Portugal. While an injury sidelined him from the World Cup, Porzingis remained a supportive presence for his teammates. His previous performances for Latvia have been impressive, highlighted by averages of 25.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 3.0 blocks in the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers. The Latvian fans eagerly anticipate his return to the court for EuroBasket 2025.
