**TIRUVANNAMALAIA, April 20, 2025** – A 27-year-old man from Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, was arrested on Sunday for allegedly selling ganja to sadhus on the Girivalam path in Tiruvannamalai town. Police identified the suspect as C. Sriram.

Sriram was apprehended during a routine patrol by special police teams tasked with preventing petty crimes. He was found riding a stolen two-wheeler and gave conflicting answers when questioned. A subsequent search of his bag uncovered approximately 1 kg of ganja. Investigations revealed Sriram had sourced the drug from his hometown and sold it in small quantities to sadhus. He is currently being held at a sub-jail in Tiruvannamalai. The increased police presence aims to curb crimes such as chain snatching and mobile phone theft in the area.
