**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** Kasireddy Rajashekar Reddy, the main suspect in a multi-crore liquor scam in Andhra Pradesh, was arrested Monday at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The arrest was made by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the alleged scam, after Reddy’s anticipatory bail plea was rejected by the High Court. Reddy had previously ignored three summonses from the SIT.

The scam allegedly involves YSRCP leaders who, between 2019 and 2024, established distilleries, launched new liquor brands, and colluded with officials to make crores of rupees through cash transactions at liquor outlets. Former Rajya Sabha member V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, who had previously implicated Reddy, and Rajampet MP P.V. Midhun Reddy have already been questioned by the SIT.

Reddy is expected to be presented before a court in Vijayawada on Tuesday. The SIT investigation continues.
