NAGERCOIL, INDIA (April 21, 2025) – Killiyoor Assembly Congress MLA S. Rajesh Kumar has been sentenced to three months imprisonment and fined ₹100 for obstructing government officials in 2014. The Nagercoil Principal Sub Court found Kumar guilty of preventing the demolition of an illegally constructed house. Two others, Subitha and Amos, received the same sentence. The incident involved the demolition of a structure built on encroached government land. While several individuals were initially charged, including the homeowner Joseph and his family members, they passed away before the case concluded. The lengthy trial, spanning 11 years, culminated in the conviction of the remaining defendants.
