**COIMBATORE, INDIA (April 20, 2025)** – Several key developments dominated the news in Coimbatore today. Proposals for a significant expansion of the city’s infrastructure, concerns over a potential five-day banking week, and a successful student job fair highlighted the day’s events.

V. Rangaswamy of the Coimbatore District Small Industries Association advocated for an 81km Eastern ring road as part of the Coimbatore Master Plan 2041. He also proposed five new industrial parks totaling 200 acres for MSMEs and the designation of dry lands for industrial use.

Meanwhile, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) welcomed the Union Finance Ministry’s decision to postpone the implementation of a five-day banking week for 2025-2026, citing potential negative impacts on services and customer experience.
