**Vijayawada, April 21, 2025** – Andhra Pradesh Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana concluded the first day of a two-day Gujarat tour on Sunday, focusing on infrastructure and development models for Amaravati. His visit included inspections of the GIFT City fintech hub in Ahmedabad and the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue.
Minister Narayana expressed keen interest in the construction techniques employed in both projects. He specifically enquired about the materials used in the Statue of Unity, exploring the possibility of replicating similar techniques for planned towering statues of prominent leaders in Amaravati. He also visited the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology in Ahmedabad.
Accompanying the Minister were A.P. CRDA commissioner K. Kannababu, Amaravati Development Corporation chairperson D. Lakshmi Parthasarathy, and A.P. Greening and Beautification Corporation MD M.K.V. Sreenivasulu. The minister’s fact-finding mission suggests a potential shift in Amaravati’s development strategy, drawing inspiration from Gujarat’s successful projects.
