Mon Apr 21 01:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Mumbai Indians Thrash Chennai Super Kings for Third Straight Win

**Kolkata, April 21, 2025:** Mumbai Indians continued their winning streak, defeating Chennai Super Kings by 9 wickets on Sunday to secure their third consecutive victory. This win marks a significant turnaround for Mumbai, who had only managed one win in their first five matches and ended a four-match losing streak against CSK.

Rohit Sharma, who had been struggling for form, finally delivered a match-winning knock of 76 not out (45 balls, 4 fours, 6 sixes), earning him the Player of the Match award. He and Suryakumar Yadav (68 not out, 30 balls, 6 fours, 5 sixes) put on an unbeaten 114-run partnership for the second wicket, chasing down CSK’s 176/5 with ease in just 15.4 overs.

CSK’s innings was anchored by fifties from Ravindra Jadeja (53 not out) and Shivam Dube (50), with 17-year-old debutant Ayush Badoni contributing a quick-fire 32. Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets for Mumbai. However, CSK’s bowling attack proved no match for the explosive batting display from Rohit and Suryakumar.

The match also saw a remarkable performance from young Ayush Badoni, who became the youngest player to represent Chennai Super Kings in IPL history. Rohit Sharma further cemented his place in IPL history, becoming the second-highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history with 6786 runs, trailing only Virat Kohli.
