Sat Apr 19 18:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Verstappen Snatchs Pole in Dramatic Saudi Arabian GP Qualifying

**Jeddah, Saudi Arabia** – Max Verstappen secured a thrilling pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, edging out Oscar Piastri by a mere 0.010 seconds in a qualifying session marked by a dramatic crash involving Lando Norris.

McLaren’s Norris, who had shown strong pace throughout the weekend, crashed heavily at Turn 5 early in Q3, bringing out a red flag and ending his session prematurely. This left him stranded in 10th place without a final qualifying time.

The incident added to the tension of an already intense battle for pole. George Russell briefly held the top spot before Piastri took over, only to be ultimately beaten by Verstappen’s blistering final lap of 1:27.294. Russell secured third place for Mercedes, ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and the second Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. Carlos Sainz impressed with a sixth-place finish for Williams, his best qualifying result yet.

Other notable performances included Lewis Hamilton in seventh for Ferrari, Yuki Tsunoda in eighth for Red Bull, and Pierre Gasly ninth for Alpine. Alex Albon narrowly missed Q3 for Williams, finishing 11th, while several other drivers faced early elimination.

The incident-filled session also saw multiple drivers struggle, including Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto of Kick Sauber, who both failed to progress beyond Q1. The race promises to be exciting, with Verstappen starting from the front and many other drivers vying for strong positions.
