**CHAMPAIGN, IL – April 20, 2025** – A single-engine plane crashed in a field near Trilla, Illinois on Saturday, killing all four people on board. The victims, two men and two women, have not yet been publicly identified pending notification of their families, according to Coles County Coroner Ed Schniers.
The Cessna C180G went down shortly after 10:00 am local time. Preliminary reports from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) suggest the aircraft struck power lines before crashing.
Illinois Governor JB Pritzker expressed condolences on social media, stating that his administration is monitoring the situation. The NTSB is investigating the cause of the crash.
