**Los Angeles, CA** – Capcom has announced that the VR mode for the Resident Evil 4 Remake has reached nearly 200,000 players on the PlayStation VR2 headset. As of today, 199,515 players have experienced the game in VR, representing 2.18% of the total player base. While impressive, this figure lags behind the VR player count for Resident Evil 7, which boasts 1,240,932 players (7.88% of its total player base) on the original PlayStation VR headset. Notably, Capcom has not released comparable statistics for Resident Evil Village on PSVR2.
The VR mode for Resident Evil 4 Remake, released eight months after the main game, has been lauded by critics, with UploadVR awarding it a perfect 5/5 stars and calling it the “definitive VR version.” Collectively, players have spent over 164 years in the game’s VR mode. The VR mode is currently available exclusively for PlayStation VR2, and a free demo is available for download.
