**Kolkata, West Bengal –** Police have arrested Ziaul Sheikh, a prime suspect in the April 12th murder of Haragobindo Das and his son Chandan Das in Murshidabad district, West Bengal. Sheikh, who was apprehended Saturday in Uttar Dinajpur district, is the fourth individual arrested in connection with the double homicide in Jafrabad. Police claim to have substantial evidence, including CCTV footage and mobile phone location data, placing Sheikh at the scene of the crime. The arrests follow a wave of violence in Murshidabad linked to recent amendments to the Waqf Act, resulting in over 100 FIRs and the arrest of 276 individuals. Three people have died as a result of the related violence.
