Sun Apr 20 14:40:45 UTC 2025: ## Man Hacked to Death Following Road Rage Incident in Thoothukudi

**THOOTHUKUDI, April 20, 2025** – A 30-year-old man, S. Maradona, was hacked to death on Sunday following a road rage incident in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Maradona, a ship crew member home for Easter, had a heated argument with a youth named Alan over rash driving.

The altercation escalated when Maradona and a friend, P. Cletus, confronted Alan and his group at Threspuram seashore. During the ensuing fight, M. Madhan Kumar, a known history-sheeter with prior murder charges, attacked Maradona with a hidden machete. Cletus was also injured attempting to intervene.

Maradona was initially taken to a private hospital, then transferred to Madurai for advanced treatment, but succumbed to his injuries en route. Cletus is recovering in a government hospital.

Police have arrested Madhan Kumar and four others in connection with the murder. Thoothukudi North Police Station has registered a murder case.
