Sun Apr 20 00:40:00 UTC 2025: **Andhra Pradesh Ex-IT Advisor Seeks Anticipatory Bail in Liquor Scam**
AMARAVATI, April 19, 2025 – Kasireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, former IT advisor to the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, has approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking anticipatory bail in connection with a liquor scam case. Reddy, a close confidante of the former chief minister, claims the case filed by the CID in September 2024 is politically motivated.
The petition alleges that the investigation is targeting him due to his association with the previous government. Reddy points to media reports stating that the then-managing director of the AP Beverages Corporation Limited (APBC), Vasudeva Reddy, implicated him in his testimony. While Vasudeva Reddy, initially considered the main accused, was later relieved of his duties and allowed to join the railways, Reddy claims this highlights a selective targeting of individuals associated with the previous administration.
Reddy’s petition further mentions that his office, residence, and the homes of his relatives have been searched by authorities, resulting in the seizure of records. He asserts his willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation and remain available for questioning, requesting the court to grant anticipatory bail to prevent his arrest. The High Court is scheduled to hear the case on Monday.
