**New Delhi, April 20, 2025** – Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has begun an 11-day official trip to the United States and Peru, the Finance Ministry announced. Her itinerary includes participation in key international meetings and bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening economic ties and exploring investment opportunities.

In the U.S., Ms. Sitharaman will deliver a keynote address at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, meet with top CEOs from IT and fund management firms, and participate in events with the Indian diaspora in San Francisco. Her Washington D.C. schedule includes the Spring Meetings of the IMF and World Bank, G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors meetings, and bilateral meetings with counterparts from several countries, including the U.S., UK, Germany, and France.

The second leg of her trip takes her to Peru, marking her first visit to the country. There, she will meet with Peruvian President Dina Boluarte and Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzén, and engage with Peruvian ministers across various sectors. A key focus will be on strengthening bilateral economic and trade relations, particularly exploring collaboration in the mining sector given Peru’s importance in the global supply chain of critical minerals. Ms. Sitharaman will also chair an India-Peru Business Forum and meet with the Indian diaspora in Lima. The trip concludes on April 30th.
