**Puducherry, April 20, 2025** – A new book celebrating the life and legacy of social reformer Periyar was launched in Puducherry yesterday. The book, titled “The Human Rights Defender Thanthai Periyar,” was authored by Durai Chandrasekaran and released by R. Siva, Leader of the Opposition and DMK convenor. The event, held at the Puduvai Tamil Sangam, featured speeches from the author, former Minister R. Viswanathan, and several Dravid Kazhagam leaders. The book is available in both Tamil and English.
