BAPATLA, Andhra Pradesh – A senior leader of the YSR Congress Party (YCP) is under investigation after a large cache of illegal explosives was discovered at a granite factory linked to him. Police raided the Prasanna Anjaneya Granite Factory in Ballikurava mandal and a godown in Nagarajupalli, both allegedly connected to YCP leader Dasam Hanuma Rao. The raid, involving police, fire department, and revenue officials, uncovered approximately 2,300 banned electrical detonators.
The detonators were seized, and an investigation is underway. Authorities are maintaining secrecy regarding the details of the investigation. While the sale of detonators was banned in December, an extension was granted until March 31. Hanuma Rao’s alleged possession of thousands of detonators after the deadline raises concerns.
