Sun Apr 20 03:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Angels Shutout Giants, Snap Losing Streak Behind Anderson and Neto’s Debut

**ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP)** — Tyler Anderson pitched six strong innings, allowing only three hits and striking out six, while Zach Neto delivered an RBI double in his season debut, leading the Los Angeles Angels to a 2-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants Friday night. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Angels.

Neto, returning from shoulder surgery, made an immediate impact, blasting a 106 mph double in his first at-bat, scoring an unearned run after a fielding error by Giants’ third baseman Matt Chapman. Another unearned run followed when Kyren Paris’ grounder deflected off Chapman’s glove.

While Giants’ starter Logan Webb also had a strong performance, striking out 12 batters, he faltered in the second inning, allowing the Angels’ early runs. Anderson’s effectiveness against right-handed batters continued, holding a group of Giants’ right-handed hitters to just 1 for 12. The Angels bullpen, featuring Brock Burke, Ryan Zeferjahn, and Kenley Jansen (his 452nd career save), held the Giants scoreless in relief.

Defensive highlights included a diving stop and throw by second baseman Kyren Paris in the seventh, preventing a potential Giants rally. Jo Adell also contributed offensively with a double and two singles.

The Angels and Giants will continue their series Saturday, with Kyle Hendricks pitching for the Angels and Landen Roupp for the Giants.
