**Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh –** The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in the monthly honorarium for Special Judicial Magistrates (Class-2), raising it from ₹30,000 to ₹45,000, with an additional ₹5,000 for transportation. The increase, announced Thursday by Law and Minority Welfare Minister N.Md. Farooq, is retroactive to April 1, 2019. The Minister cited the vital role of the magistrates in justifying the decision.

In a separate announcement, the government allocated ₹30 crore for the disbursement of outstanding honorariums to 8,427 pastors across the state. These funds, allocated from the Minority Welfare Department, will cover unpaid stipends from May to November 2024 and will be directly deposited into the pastors’ bank accounts via the Christian Minority Corporation. The release of these funds before Good Friday has been widely welcomed as a demonstration of the government’s commitment to minority welfare.
