**CHENNAI, April 20, 2025** – Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH) in Chennai has significantly boosted its security measures with the installation of 429 CCTV cameras across its premises. The initiative, undertaken following a state government order, aims to enhance the safety of healthcare professionals, staff, and patients.
According to Dean E. Theranirajan, the cameras are strategically positioned throughout the hospital, including its three tower blocks and key wards such as cardiology, nephrology, and rheumatology. A dedicated team will monitor the footage 24/7 from 12 control rooms. The locations for camera placement were determined after a joint inspection by the police department and hospital administration. This comprehensive security upgrade is expected to improve safety and security for everyone at RGGGH.
