**Hyderabad, April 18:** A record-breaking 305,774 candidates have registered for the Telangana Engineering, Agriculture & Pharmacy Common Entrance Test (TG EAPCET), scheduled to take place between April 29th and May 4th. This surpasses previous years’ registration numbers, highlighting the growing popularity of these undergraduate professional courses in the state.

The exam, conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad (JNTUH) on behalf of the Telangana Council for Higher Education (TGCHE), will be held across 16 test zones and 236 centres. The engineering stream alone attracted 219,420 candidates, while the agriculture and pharmacy stream garnered 86,101 registrations. A total of 253 candidates will be taking both the engineering and agriculture/pharmacy exams.

The exam will be administered in two shifts daily, from 9 am to 12 noon and 3 pm to 6 pm. Hall tickets can be downloaded from April 19th for the agriculture and pharmacy stream and from April 22nd for the engineering stream.

Hyderabad emerged as the city with the highest number of applicants, exceeding 1.4 lakh across four sub-zones. A significant portion of candidates, approximately 2.8 lakh, hail from the local Telangana (OU) region. The exam also saw a higher number of female candidates (158,885) compared to male candidates (146,828). A substantial number of candidates are from government colleges, minority communities (around 31,650), and various special reservation categories, including EWS (over 31,000).

The sheer volume of applicants underscores the growing demand for engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy courses in Telangana. The TGCHE and JNTUH are prepared to manage the large-scale examination smoothly and ensure a fair process for all participants.
