**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** Suchitra Ella, co-founder of Bharat Biotech and Padma Bhushan awardee, has been appointed as the Advisor for Handlooms and Handicrafts Development in Andhra Pradesh. The appointment was announced Friday at a ceremony in Vijayawada. Ms. Ella will serve a two-year term, advising on policy reforms, sustainability initiatives, market expansion, and the increased use of digital platforms and Geographical Indication (GI) recognition for artisan products. Handlooms and Textiles Commissioner Rekha Rani expressed confidence in Ms. Ella’s ability to significantly boost the state’s handloom sector.
