FORT WORTH, TX – The University of Missouri gymnastics team defied expectations Thursday, securing a spot in the NCAA Championships final. Despite being the seventh seed, the Tigers edged out third-seeded Florida (197.200) with a score of 197.300 at the NCAA Championships semifinal in Dickies Arena. This victory also eliminated twelfth-seeded Alabama (196.825).
Mizzou’s success was anchored by redshirt senior Helen Hu’s stellar performance on the balance beam. Her final routine earned a meet-high score of 9.9875, clinching the team’s advancement to the finals. Other strong performances included Amari Celestine’s 9.8750 and Jocelyn Moore’s 9.8625 on the uneven bars.
