**Hyderabad, April 19, 2025** – Telangana is expected to experience contrasting weather conditions this Sunday, with thunderstorms and lightning predicted for 16 districts while others face scorching temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast reveals a split across the state.
Sixteen districts – Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, and Nagarkurnool – are likely to experience thunderstorms.
However, 13 northern districts – Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Nizamabad, Pedapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Nirmal, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Kamareddy, and Medak – are bracing for temperatures ranging from 41°C to 44°C.
This follows Friday’s heavy rain and strong winds in Hyderabad, where the maximum temperature reached 38.6°C. Nizamabad recorded the highest temperature in the state on Friday at 42.6°C, followed by Adilabad (41.3°C) and Medak (40.2°C). The IMD advises residents to take necessary precautions to stay safe during the extreme weather conditions.
