**Bengaluru, April 19, 2025** – Bengaluru’s Namma Metro achieved a historic milestone on April 17th, recording its highest-ever daily ridership with 908,153 passengers. This surpasses all previous records, highlighting the growing popularity of the city’s metro system as a preferred mode of public transport.

The Purple Line (Line 1) saw the highest number of commuters with 435,516 boardings, followed by the Green Line (Line 2) with 285,240. The Kempegowda (KGWA) interchange station alone recorded a significant 187,397 passengers.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) expressed its appreciation for the city’s residents’ enthusiastic adoption of the Namma Metro. With ongoing expansion and infrastructure improvements, BMRCL anticipates even greater ridership as the network continues to grow and reach new areas of Bengaluru.
