HYDERABAD, INDIA – To alleviate the anxiety of students regarding exam center locations for the upcoming Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET), the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has announced a new initiative. For the first time, hall tickets will feature QR codes. By scanning the code with a mobile phone, students can instantly access information including the exam center’s address, distance from their home, and estimated travel time.
This was announced at a press conference on Friday by TSCHE Chairman Prof. V. Balakishore Reddy along with JNTUH Vice-Chancellor Prof. T. Kishen Kumar Reddy, Convener Prof. B. Dean Kumar, Co-Convener Prof. K. Vijayakumar Reddy, and Registrar K. Venkateshwar Rao.
Prof. Vijayakumar Reddy highlighted that this QR code system is a first for the EAMCET entrance exams, aiming to improve the candidate experience. He also reiterated that strict punctuality is enforced; late arrivals will not be permitted. Students who have applied for both the Agriculture and Engineering sections will receive separate hall tickets. The authorities also assured that temporary technical issues with computers at exam centers will be addressed, and extra time will be provided if necessary. Late applications with a late fee of ₹5,000 will be accepted until the 24th of this month.
Prof. Balakishore Reddy added that SC sub-categorization will be implemented in admissions this year, and applications have been received based on university divisions. Efforts are underway to conduct admissions counseling earlier than usual.
JNTUH Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kishen Kumar Reddy and Registrar Venkateshwar Rao stated that inspections of engineering colleges have begun, and they aim to grant affiliations by May 15th. They added that while some discrepancies were discovered in the results of self-governing colleges, corrective actions are underway. The press conference was attended by TSCHE Vice-Chairman Itikala Purushottam and SK Mahmood.
The EAMCET Agriculture exam begins on the 29th of this month, while the Engineering exam commences on the 2nd of next month.
